Beacon Hill At Eastgate is the newest Continuing Care Retirement Community or CCRC in the Grand Rapids area. Unlike other CCRCs, Beacon Hill offers residents an all-inclusive lifestyle. Beacon Hill At Eastgate was formerly Michigan Christian Home.
What levels of service will Beacon Hill At Eastgate provide?
The services provided by Beacon Hill At Eastgate range from independent living to on-site assisted-living, skilled-nursing, rehabilitation, and dementia care. Residents are guaranteed access to whichever level of service they may require, whenever they need it, for as long as they need.
What is an All-inclusive Lifestyle?

Living at Beacon Hill At Eastgate eliminates the time-consuming worries of home maintenance, housekeeping, or monthly expenses. Beacon Hill includes these items and many more as part of your monthly fee.

Residents write one check per month that covers utilities, housekeeping, linen service, transportation, parking, yard/snow maintenance, health and wellness, entertainment, homeowners insurance, dining (plans range from 1 to 3 meals per day), rent and property taxes.

Residents of Beacon Hill's independent living apartment homes receive an additional benefit due to the community's location in a Renaissance Zone.

What is a Continuing Care Retirement Community or CCRC?
CCRCs are an increasingly popular choice for retirement living. Beacon Hill At Eastgate offers residents a long-term contract to provide housing, health care, and other services in one location.  There are three types of CCRCs:
  • Type A: Agreements include housing, residential services, and amenities, plus assisted-living and skilled-nursing services with almost no increase in fees.
  • Type B: Agreements provide housing, services, and amenities on a fee-for-services basis. Higher levels of care, such as assisted-living and skilled-nursing, are provided and charged to residents at market rates.
  • Type C: These agreements vary widely but they all combine the benefits of both Type A and B agreements. For example, higher levels of care may be provided with no increase in fees for a certain period of time, and then be discounted from market rates for as long as a resident requires care. Beacon Hill At Eastgate is a Type C community.
