Originally founded in Grand Rapid's Southeast Side as Michigan Christian Home, The Mary and Martha Center has provided the highest level of care to area seniors since 1960. It completes our continuum of care by offering a wide range of residential and clinical services to our residents. These private and semi-private living accommodations all share access to community dining rooms, lounges, outdoor sitting areas, chapel and multipurpose rooms.
Licensed nurses, medical assistants, and trained resident assistants provide individualized support with bathing, dressing, eating, medication monitoring, and other activities of daily living. Our experienced assisted living staff members hold a variety of degrees and certifications, as well as the accolades of our residents and their families.
Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and competency evaluated nursing assistants provide our residents with short and long-term nursing care, 24 hours a day. Ideally suited for a senior recovering from an illness, surgery, or requiring specific rehabilitation, Beacon Hill combines beautiful surroundings and medical care offerings with an unmatched level of professional service and dignity. Our care team reinforces healing and rehabilitation processes while promoting independence through Beacon Hill's Restorative Care Program.
Dementia Care/Memory Support
Beacon Hill's specially designed memory support program provides care in a secure environment for residents living with dementia and other memory support challenges. The residential suites are designed for people who have mild to moderate dementia or similar cognitive conditions. Our memory support team focuses on each resident's quality of life by understanding and working to meet their unique cognitive, physical, spiritual, emotional, and social needs with respect and dignity.
In conjunction with Mary Free Bed, our rehabilitation program serves the therapy needs of both residents and non-residents of Beacon Hill at Eastgate. We help people with a multitude of diagnoses, including stroke, orthopedic conditions, and arthritis. Hands-on therapy is available to residents experiencing back pain and dysfunction, joint replacement, multiple traumas, post-surgical conditions, and other impairments. After being discharged from a hospital, our short-term rehabilitation can help "bridge the gap" between hospital and home - and give you the extra time you need to get back on your feet again. Our rehab team will work with you to design a personalized program that will help you quickly regain your strength and mobility.
There are a variety of services offered to our Mary and Martha Center residents. Routine service fees include: room and board (including utilities), three meals a day, housekeeping, laundry services, hair styling and salon are available, cable television, and wireless internet.
